In addition to financial donations, Ascension Living accepts in-kind donations such as equipment, materials or supplies for our residents. The generosity of donors helps us to make each season brighter for your loved ones who are in our care throughout the year.
In-kind donations are used to help celebrate birthdays, offer helpful distractions during difficult and painful procedures, and to provide comfort during the healing process.

Monthly Donations
Donating monthly helps Ascension Living deliver the compassionate care our community relies upon and ensures the ministry continues to meet the ever-changing health care needs of our community and beyond.
Planned Giving
Making a planned gift is a wonderful way to show your support and appreciation for Ascension Living and its mission while accommodating your own personal, financial, estate-planning and philanthropic goals. With smart planning, you may actually increase the size of your estate and/or reduce the tax burden on your heirs.
Just as important, you will know that you have made a meaningful contribution to ensure the future of Ascension Living. There are numerous planned giving opportunities for interested donors, consistent with your philanthropic goals and personal financial situations. Working with The Ascension Living Foundation and your financial advisor is most often the best way to achieve these goals.

Life Insurance
You assign all the rights in your insurance policy to Ascension Living, designate us as irrevocable beneficiary, and then receive an income tax deduction. Ascension Living may surrender the policy for its cash value or hold it and receive the proceeds at your death. You receive a federal income-tax deduction. If premiums remain to be paid, you can receive income tax deductions for contributions to Ascension Living to pay these premiums. You can make a substantial gift on the installment plan. Ascension Living receives a gift that they can use now or hold for the future.
Closely Held Business Stock
Make a gift of your closely held stock to Ascension Living and get a qualified appraisal to determine its value. You receive a charitable income tax deduction for the full fair-market value of the stock. Ascension Living may keep the stock or offer to sell it back to your company. You receive an income tax deduction for the fair-market value of stock. You pay no capital-gain tax on any appreciation. Your company may repurchase the stock, thereby keeping your ownership interest intact. Ascension Living receives a significant gift.
IRA Charitable Rollover
Congress made the IRA charitable rollover permanent. The rollover law allows taxpayers who are required to withdraw money from their IRAs to give directly to charity. Because the rollover counts against your required minimum distribution, making an IRA rollover gift to an organization like ours could reduce your income and taxes. Persons age 70 ½ or older can rollover up to $100,000 from their IRA to a qualified charity like ours. While you won’t receive an income tax deduction for a rollover gift, you also won’t pay any income tax on the transfer. The transfer only works for IRAs and not for other retirement accounts. You may be able to roll over your 401(k) or other plan into an IRA and take advantage of this strategy. Check with your financial advisor, tax advisor or contact us to learn more about how you can use your required minimum distribution for good and lower your taxes.
A Gift in Honor of a Caregiver(s)
A gift to Ascension Living’s greatest need fund will allow Ascension Living communities to quickly respond to emergent needs, like the COVID pandemic, in a variety of ways.
